Overview

AUT is the second-largest university in Aotearoa New Zealand. We have been a university since 2000, but a place of learning for 120 years and operate in accordance with the Education Act (1989). AUT is a contemporary New Zealand university, led by a strategic team and governed by a council. The Vice-Chancellor is the head of the University and is supported by the Strategic Leadership Team. The AUT Council is the governing body of the University and is made up of lay members, academic and professional staff, at least one student, and members appointed by the government.

City Campus

Our City Campus is in the heart of Auckland. It is AUT’s biggest campus and home to most academic units and the central administration, including the Vice-Chancellor’s office. The City Campus is a 15-minute walk from Britomart train station and the ferry terminal. AUT shuttle buses run between the South and City campuses, and public buses stop nearby.
