Admission Requirements
The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to Charles Sturt University:
- International students are considered on a case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
- Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
- Financial support statement (original bank statement and sponsor letter).
- Passport identification page with machine-readable code visible
- Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
- You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.

Homestay
A Homestay arrangement gives students the opportunity to get an authentic cultural experience by living with an Australian family. Australian host families come from many places including Europe, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong, among others. Homestay consists of a variety of family environments including married couples (with or without children), single parents or a single person. Students are able to apply for Homestay accommodation via the Australian Homestay Network website.
The Homestay Officer will house students accordingly and email the Homestay Profile and confirmation to the agent/student directly. Learn more about Homestay and the breakdown of costs.
Private rentals and shared housing
A private rental means renting a house, flat or apartment from a private landlord or real estate agent. You can rent by yourself or with other people, and rooms may be furnished or unfurnished. Private accommodation rent does not include utilities and you will have to buy and cook your own meals.

Student accommodation can be incredibly convenient places to live. You may find an apartment, room to yourself or share with fellow students. Rooms are generally fully furnished and come with 24-hour support. There is often shared facilities including gym, BBQ, pool and study areas. 2025 Launch Merit Scholarship
This scholarship recognises and rewards excellence for eligible students applying to study at Charles Sturt University Sydney or Melbourne. The award provides a 30% tuition fee reduction throughout the entire duration of the course.
Eligibility
Available to:
- Awarded to eligible new commencing 2025 international applicants studying on-campus at the Sydney or Melbourne campus in the approved courses in session 1 or 2, 2025.
- The scholarship is not available for continuing or transferring students. Applicants must be international applicants for an intake at the Sydney or Melbourne campus.
Conditions:
- Applicant must be an international applicant for an eligible course offered at the Sydney or Melbourne campus for an intake in 2025.
- International Exchange and Study Abroad applicants are not eligible for this scholarship.
- All new international students who apply to study a degree within 12 months after successful completion of an Australian university AQF level 7 or above degree are eligible to receive the 2025 Launch Merit Scholarship.

- For eligible undergraduate degrees, students must achieve an academic entry score equivalent to 75% in an Australian Year 12 qualification or its equivalent.
