Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to Northeastern University:

International students are considered on a case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
Should provide the certificate issued by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) that compares educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in Canada.
Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.

Please note: If you are not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you must obtain a valid study permit before you come to Canada.

Co-op and Career Services

The Co-op and Career Services team is a resource for students seeking success in Toronto, Ontaro and the Canadian job market. All students have access to advisors who support students in their career development right from orientation to graduation and beyond. As a Toronto campus student, you will all be assigned a program-specific co-op and career advisor to support you through your co-op, experiential learning, and career development journey. You can also meet with one of our Career Peer Advisors (CPAs), a senior student staff member, to get support with your resumes, cover letters, interview prep and more.

Co-op and Experiential Learning

Build your skills, knowledge, attitudes and connections by attending career development workshops, programs and events! You can expect to learn how to search for full-time and part-time jobs, ace an interview or network at one of our many industry partner-led events.

Each college at Northeastern offers co-op as an optional part of the program. As a co-op student, you will have the opportunity to gain up to 8 months of paid work experience related to your field. Your co-op and career advisor is your main point of contact to learn more about the requirements to take part in co-op and for any questions you may have before, during and after your work-term. It is important to connect with your advisor through meetings, email and workshops to stay up to date on new developments related to the co-op program.

Please see the outline of the Fall 2026 scholarships and awards. Admitted students will be automatically considered for college-level scholarships upon admission, as well as campus-level scholarship opportunities.

Scholarships and Awards for International Students

International Impact Award:	Students with Indian citizenship will be eligible for a 5% tuition award.
International Academic Excellence Scholarship:	Scholarship value: 10% of tuition Academic requirement: GPA 3.5 or higher Applicable colleges: College of Engineering, Khoury College of Computer Sciences, D’Amore-McKim School of Business, and College of Science
College of Professional Studies Leaders and Scholars Awards:	Scholarship value: 5 to 15% of tuition (stackable up to 50% of tuition) Academic requirement: GPA 3.5 or higher: 15%, GPA 3.0 to 3.49: 10%, GPA below 3.0 or no GPA available: 5%
