Global University Systems (GUS) - The University of Law - London Bloomsbury Campus

Founded: 1962   Total Students: 8,000+

Overview

We are one of the UK's longest-established specialist providers of legal education. Our origins can be traced back to 1876 with the formation of the leading tutorial firm Gibson & Weldon, and later on, with the establishment of The Law Society School of Law. In 1962 the two were amalgamated to establish The College of Law, and in 2012 we were granted our full university title. In 2016 we launched our Business School which has since seen expansion across our campuses and partnerships with leading international institutions such as GISMA Business School in Berlin.

We made history in 2006 by becoming the first independent institution to be granted degree awarding powers by the Privy Council, leading to the development of our professionally-focused Bachelor and Master of Laws degree programmes.

In 2018, we announced our new Hong Kong campus which allows our students to learn in the heart of a leading international commerce and finance hub. Our first classes in Hong Kong took place in September 2019.

We’re now at the heart of education as an acknowledged leader in innovative, professional legal and business teaching for prospective lawyers and business professionals, both in the UK and worldwide.

With a rich heritage and a reputation for leading contemporary teaching practices, we continuously focus on developing the best legal minds and business leaders.

London Bloomsbury Campus:
Our campus is a 2 minute walk from Goodge Street Underground Station and is right next to Tottenham Court Road – a street with a large range of shops, bars and restaurants, and bus links to all other parts of London.

If shopping is your thing, look no further than London’s famous shopping area – Oxford Street. Our Bloomsbury campus is in the centre of London’s theatre scene and just across the street from Soho, a popular area for bars.

The area’s collection of academic institutions, shops, cafes and parks, makes for a bustling atmosphere. You will have many opportunities to get involved in a rich sporting and social life at our Bloomsbury campus and even have the option to start a society yourself.

The campus’ 4-floor library is full of textbooks and reference books as well as helpful staff on hand to help with your studies and research work. The cyber lounge and café are great places to socialise and work in groups in between lectures.

Our on-site employability service includes a team of career consultants that are there to help you and discuss your career path. We also have a pro bono centre that provides you with the opportunity to volunteer and potentially give legal advice to real clients, under supervision.

At London Bloomsbury, our tutors and staff pride themselves on delivering the pinnacle of legal and business education and are dedicated to helping you achieve your career ambitions. Our tutors are all industry professionals that will teach you the practical skills needed to kick start your career.
