Admission Requirements
The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to Simon Fraser University:
- International students are considered on a case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
- Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
- Should provide the certificate issued by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) that compares educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in Canada.
- Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
- You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.
Please note: If you are not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you must obtain a valid study permit before you come to Canada.

Accomodation
SFU Residence and Housing
SFU Residence and Housing is a living learning community made up of towers, traditional residence halls, studio style apartments and townhouses. Our vibrant, diverse and inclusive community welcomes undergraduate and graduate students from around the world from both Simon Fraser University and Fraser International College. All rooms are private single rooms - which means that you won't have to share your bedroom with anybody. Find the community that's right for you.
Scholarships
Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarships (USES)
The Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarships (USES) are for both domestic and international high school applicants who demonstrate potential to enrich the university community through ongoing academic and community contributions.
Minimum Requirements
- Applying to SFU for the Fall term
- Currently completing final year of high school OR graduated from high school in the past year and have not enrolled in any post-secondary courses
- Meet admission requirements to primary program choice in any SFU faculty
- Have grades in the 90% range OR 31 IB points, excluding predicted bonus points, in courses required for admission to primary program
- Demonstrate excellence in both academic and extracurricular activities
- Can have two complete references–due by January 31, 2025
- Can complete all items on Student Centre To Do List – due by January 31, 2025

Tadeusz Specht Memorial Entrance Scholarship
Offered to entering high school applicants to the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Health Sciences. Only eligible applicants from the Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship competition will be considered for this opportunity.
Value: $10,000 (4 payments of $2,500)

The Bennett Family Entrance Scholarship
The endowment supporting the Bennett Family Entrance Scholarship was established in 2019 with a generous gift from Jim Bennett. One entrance scholarship will be offered annually in the fall term to an applicant entering SFU from Holy Cross Regional High School (Surrey, BC).
Only eligible applicants from the Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship competition will be considered for this opportunity.

Lloyd Carr-Harris Scholarship
