Full Sail University began 1979 in Dayton, Ohio, as an audio recording workshop. It provided unparalleled opportunity for students to become familiar with the industry through real-world experience in professional studio environments. Full Sail eventually relocated to Central Florida, planting roots in its current Winter Park location in 1989. Its project-based, relevant educational philosophy was readily adapted to other fields in entertainment and media from filmmaking, to digital media, to entertainment business which combined time working on real-world environments with instruction by industry veterans. Today, Full Sail University offers associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees designed for evolving industries across entertainment, media, art, and technology.
