Overview

Founded as the UK’s first civic University, the original ‘redbrick', we have evolved into a leading global institution, spanning international offices, our Birmingham campus, and now the first global top 100 British university to open a campus in Dubai.

While we’ve been here since 2018, we moved into a new, purpose-built campus in 2022. One that offers a student experience like no other in Dubai.

Our Dubai campus reflects the stunning heart of our UK campus. Home for up to 3,000 students, it’s also a meeting place for Birmingham alumni in the region and a business engagement hub for the local community. Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to the University of Birmingham Dubai:

International students are considered on a case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
Financial support statement (original bank statement and sponsor letter).
Passport identification page with machine-readable code visible
Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.

Accomodation

You’ll find a range of safe, modern places to live near campus in Dubai International Academic City. Dedicated student accommodation typically includes ensuite rooms in shared apartments, either single or double occupancy. Usually, they also offer facilities such as gyms and social spaces, with basic costs of Wi-Fi and utilities included in the fee. They also offer shuttle transport services at key times to our campus.

KSK Homes

KSK Homes is a vibrant student residential community located in the heart of Dubai International Academic City. Make new friends, meet people from different universities, and create unforgettable memories.

They offer a wide variety of social spaces, including spacious lounges on each floor, with communal kitchens and dining halls, large game areas, outdoor courtyards, a state-of-the-art gym, and academic study centres. Focus on your academic success while their 24/7 on-site team takes care of everything else.

You can also have friends and family stay with you on the same premises in their budget-friendly hotel.

The Myriad

The Myriad Dubai is a fully integrated, urban-styled student living community, accommodating up to 2,000 residents.

Located within Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), it is within walking distance of our campus and a short five-minute drive from Dubai Silicon Oasis, a vibrant community with a variety of retail shops, services, leisure facilities, restaurants, and shopping centres.

Accommodation options include twin rooms, single rooms, or studio rooms, all with en-suite shower rooms and shared kitchen lounges.

Yugo Dubailand

Yugo Dubailand (formerly Uninest Student Residences) is a global brand with over 30 years of experience, 100 spaces in 9 countries, and 35,000 students.

Located in the Dubailand residence complex, it is just 15 minutes from the University of Birmingham Dubai campus.

Yugo offers free transportation to universities, malls, and for weekend, evening, and late-night trips. The location provides easy access to supermarkets, clinics, pharmacies, restaurants, salons, and parks.

From your first day on campus until your last, we’ll make sure the right support and guidance is there for you whenever you need it.

We understand that adjusting to university life can be a challenge. Your health, wellbeing and personal development are as important to us as your academic achievement. To help with this, we have a dedicated Student Wellbeing Officer in Dubai, who can assist you with any academic or wellbeing concerns that you may have during your time with us. We also provide specialist support locally and online through our Edgbaston campus where you will have access to additional services like counselling and mental health support. Please contact your Wellbeing department to understand how to access the service.
