University Canada West is an innovative business and technology-oriented institution located in the heart of vibrant Vancouver. Established in 2004, UCW offers a range of career-focused programs including the Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication, Associate of Arts and Master of Business Administration. Courses are offered at our two downtown Vancouver campuses and online too. Offering courses online brings flexibility to education, allowing those who may not have otherwise had the opportunity to gain respected qualifications.
UCW students come from more than 90 countries around the world and include Canadian citizens, permanent residents and visiting students who contribute to the diversity and richness of the University. Admission Requirements
The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to the University Canada West:
- International students are considered on case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
- Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
- Should provide the certificate issued by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) that compares educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in Canada.
- Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
- You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.
Please note: If you are not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you must obtain a valid study permit before you come to Canada.

University Canada West has partnered with 4stay - student accommodation platform to provide best possible housing options for its students.
4stay offers University Canada West students a variety of housing and affordable rooms for rent around the University campus. Anyone can easily search online for fully furnished apartments and all utilities included private rooms, shared rooms, and entire homes for a term, a year, month-to-month or short term rentals. For those students who want to experience local culture, we have a homestay program. Also, students can find a roommate at UCW, who is attending the same university. Together you can book their stays to become roommates. On 4stay anyone who has fully furnished rooms or stay can post apartments for rent, houses for rent and sublets for rent to students of UCW. Whether you want to sublet or book a dorm room or stay in one of the student housing or students apartments or simply find a roommate, 4stay is your destination for off campus housing. 4stay is like Airbnb for student housing or simply a roommate finder marketplace. Transportation from the Airport Students arriving at Vancouver International Airport have a variety of transportation options to reach their destination. The Canada Line SkyTrain (rapid transit line) connects the airport with a number of stations throughout Richmond and Vancouver. The Canada Line connects to other SkyTrain lines at Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver to reach additional areas around Vancouver. Taxis are often available at the airport to take you directly to your destination. Similarly, students can opt for a ride share service such as Uber or Lyft, or rent a car from a variety of companies at the airport.

Awards & Scholarships
University Canada West (UCW) entrance awards, scholarships and grants are available to new students applying to a UCW undergraduate or graduate program. Students currently studying at UCW may be eligible to apply for continuing student awards.
Entrance Awards
University Canada West entrance awards are available to new students approved for admission to either undergraduate or graduate programs at UCW.
- You can receive only ONE (1) entrance award (limited exceptions apply, see below for details).
- If you are eligible for multiple automatically awarded awards, then you will receive the award with the highest value.
- Students taking online programs are not eligible for these awards, unless specified.
- Applicants with conditional offers are not eligible to qualify for an award until they fulfill the conditions for full (i.e. unconditional) admission.
- Award recipients are expected to act as ambassadors for UCW and participate in outreach and alumni engagement initiatives.
- All awards are disbursed as tuition credit.
- New Student Orientation (NSO), ENGL 080, and any repeat course attempts are not eligible courses for disbursal payments (even if taken within the disbursal period).
Note: The following awards are bestowed automatically. That is, no award application is required as these awards will be granted at point of admission (if eligibility is met).

Special Targeted Regional Award Program (STRAP)

Applicable Programs: Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication
Eligibility: This grant is open to international students, who have been residing in Canada for at least one year and/or completed a qualification in Canada, and are applying to UCW from within Canada.
Award Value: Qualifying students are eligible to pay domestic tuition fees.
Disbursal: Disbursements will commence from the first term of enrolment as a tuition credit (excluding any terms with preparatory courses*).
Conditions:
- The student must commence their program before their offer for admission expires.
- The student must not change programs.
- The student must pay all fees (that are not covered by the award) by their respective due dates.
- The student must maintain good academic standing.
- The student must maintain a full-time enrolment status.
