Overview
Attended by more than 45,000 students each year, Seattle College offers three unique campus environments located within the beautiful and vibrant city of Seattle: North Seattle College, Seattle Central College, and South Seattle College.
For over 50 years, Seattle Colleges has been a popular choice for students from around the world looking to pursue higher education. Its main goal is to help students become well-prepared members of a global society by offering innovative educational opportunities at public community colleges. The community colleges offer many great benefits, including lower tuition and fees, smaller class sizes, dynamic and interactive teaching styles, and personal attention and support.
South Seattle College provides students opportunities to complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree program, train for rewarding careers in professional/technical programs and learn English as a second language.
The International Programs (IP) Division provides a wide variety of services to international students including admissions, housing support, academic and immigration advising and personal counselling.
Though located within the city of Seattle, South Seattle College offers a relaxed and calm environment, away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Faculty, staff and students alike take pride in the strong sense of community present at South Seattle College.
Situated near the open waters of Puget Sound, the campus features panoramic views of the Seattle skyline, expansive lawns, manicured gardens and access to several local nature trails. Students enjoy views of nearby Lincoln Park, bike rides to Alki Beach and water taxi trips to Pike Place Market.

As an international student enrolling at Seattle Colleges, you have several housing options to consider. We recommend securing your housing as early as possible.
- Homestay
- More than a housing option, a homestay is an opportunity to experience American culture at home. We encourage students to consider living with a host family for at least a few months during their studies.
- On-Campus Housing
- Seattle Central offers on-campus housing for international students in The Studios on Broadway. The studios, located across the street from Central's main classroom building, are open to students attending any of the three campuses. They provide shared housing for nearly 80 students.
- Off-Campus Housing
- Off-campus housing is another option available to international students. Apartment costs will depend on a variety of factors, including the location, size, and number of roommates (if any) sharing the residence.
- Short- Term Housing
- Special rates may be available for students of Seattle Colleges if temporary accommodations are needed upon arrival, so be sure to ask when making a reservation. Note that only certain hotels/hostels allow students under the age of 21 to stay without an accompanying adult or guardian.
Student Support
South Seattle College's TRIO Student Success Services program is funded by the US Department of Education and is designed to support current South students with the necessary services to graduate and transfer to four year colleges and universities.
