Overview
First opened in 1975, Northern Lights College serves the top third of British Columbia. Our programs provide students with hands-on training and education so they can make a successful transition into further education and the workforce.
Dawson Creek Campus
The Dawson Creek campus is the original NLC location and is home to our main administration office. A centerpiece of the city of Dawson Creek, the campus is full of scenic study spots and modern amenities that will make your college experience enjoyable.
On-campus highlights
A unique feature of the Dawson Creek campus is a state-of-the-art $33 million facility that has expanded the existing campus buildings and created a new trades training space.
In addition to a range of trades, university arts & sciences, and vocational programs, many specialized training programs are offered exclusively at the Dawson Creek campus.

Admission Requirements
The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to Northern Lights College:
- International students are considered on a case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
- Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
- Should provide the certificate issued by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) that compares educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in Canada.
- Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
- You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.
Please note: If you are not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you must obtain a valid study permit before you come to Canada.

Accomodation
On-Campus Living
NLC offers student housing at our Dawson Creek and Fort St. John campuses. Living on campus is a great way to connect with other students. It’s affordable and convenient. Both campuses have dedicated areas for studying and socializing. All suites are furnished and move-in ready.
Dawson Creek
Student housing at Dawson Creek is located on campus, close to local businesses, restaurants and shopping. The secure, managed building features indoor and outdoor activity areas including a games room, student lounge, workout area, and several group study areas.
- Capacity: Student housing has two wings with capacity for 190 students and includes assisted living units.
- Bedrooms: Choose from one, two, three, and four bedroom units. There is also a two bedroom wheelchair-accessible suite on each floor.
- Living Arrangements: Each suite has a comfortable couch and chair, a large picture window, and smaller windows that open. Assisted living suites have custom designed kitchens and showers.
- Furniture: Each bedroom is furnished with a bed, small dresser, bookshelves, computer desk, chair, and is internet and telephone ready.
- Kitchen, Laundry, & Cleaning: Each unit has a kitchen with a stove, fridge, microwave, table, and chairs. Each floor is equipped with a washer and dryer. Vacuum cleaners are available to borrow.
- Supplies: Long-term stay students must provide their own bedding, linen, towels, dishes, and utensils. These are provided to short-term stay students.
