Overview
The University of Tasmania will open a specialist international study centre in the centre of Melbourne.
The centre will enable international students who prefer to live in large metropolitan centres to study with the University of Tasmania, Executive Dean of the College of Business and Economics Professor Stuart Crispin said.
“Students who travel to Australia make choices about where to live and study for a range of reasons, including business and travel links and connections to family, friends and culture,” Professor Crispin said.
“This new study centre means those students can access our university’s high-quality Tasmanian offerings, and it means we can continue to broaden and diversify our international student community.”
Beginning in Semester 2 2023, with initial offerings will include the Masters of Business Administration (International) and the Bachelor of Business. Learning will be on-campus with students taught through face-to-face workshops. Students will also have access to work integrated learning opportunities in a similar manner to on-campus students at other locations.
The Melbourne centre will extend the University’s national footprint. It builds on the earlier establishment of the Rozelle campus in NSW, which caters for domestic students in health sciences including nursing and paramedicine. It will also help to support the University’s relationships with new industry partners to facilitate learning, internship, and employment opportunities for our students.
The Melbourne Study Centre will be operated by the international education services provider ECA (Education Centre of Australia), which has 15 years’ experience in delivering courses for international students and a global presence across seven international regions. Materials provision and moderation will be carried out by University of Tasmania unit coordinators.
