Overview

Fraser International College (FIC) is located on Simon Fraser University’s (SFU) Burnaby campus, in British Columbia, Canada. FIC enables students from all over the world to reach their potential and goals by offering high-quality education. Our combined letter of offer from FIC & SFU compliments the programs and courses delivered at SFU. Our programs are designed to support students with a direct pathway into SFU second year. FIC’s qualified instructors ensure students have the very best preparation for the demands of higher education in Canada. Each program area offers small class sizes, diverse courses, and volunteering opportunities. All of which combined, maximize the learning opportunities, growth of creativity, and the student’s passion. Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to Fraser International College:

International students are considered on case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
Should provide the certificate issued by the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) that compares educational credentials from other countries to educational standards in Canada.
Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.

Please note: If you are not a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you must obtain a valid study permit before you come to Canada.

SFU Residences (On-Campus Accommodation)

FIC students may choose to live in SFU residences at the Burnaby campus, just a short walk from classes. The residences feature single-room accommodation with extra-long beds and high-speed internet access, and common rooms with shared TVs and microwaves. They also have a dining hall and a meal plan that is available to the entire residence community.

Buses operate between the campus and Greater Vancouver’s rapid transit system at the foot of Burnaby Mountain on a regular basis. SFU also has an on-campus hotel where visiting family members can stay.

Living in residence means being at the centre of it all: barbecue nights, movie nights, and ‘rez’ challenges are just some of the regular activities that make on-campus residence fun! SFU students, staff and volunteers are there to help make the most of the residence experience — whether it’s sharing study tips, finding the best cup of coffee, or joining in a volleyball game. For many students, residence life is one of the most memorable aspects of their undergraduate experience.

Off-Campus Accommodation

A wide range of off-campus accommodation are available to FIC students, including private rentals and shared accommodations. The SFU Residence and Housing resources will provide you comprehensive and up-to-date listings and are the best places to start looking for off-campus accommodation.

Homestay

For many students, the opportunity to stay with a Canadian family in the local community offers special appeal. As a homestay student, you will have the chance to be a part of the family, taking part in family activities and celebrating special occasions.

All families are within commuting distance of FIC and SFU. Your homestay arrangement may include breakfast, lunch and dinner, and may be upgraded upon request to include special amenities such as internet access or a private bathroom. FIC’s preferred homestay providers are:

The Scholarship award is 1500-$4000	Applicants must: ♦ Must have a valid FIC letter of offer ♦ Scholarship interview with an FIC staff ♦ During the interview, you will elaborate on the following topics: ♦ Why did you choose Vancouver as your study destination? ♦ Why did you choose FIC as your study destination? ♦ What’s the first thing you want to experience in Canada? ♦ Why did you choose your program of study?	♦ Student must be willing to be profiled on FIC’s social media and website platforms. ♦ The scholarship applies to academic studies completed for an undergraduate program with FIC. Students are liable to pay for the remainder of their semester course fees. ♦ Successful recipients will not receive any money from Navitas member institution. The value of the scholarship will be recorded on the student’s tuition account during their semester of study for an undergraduate program with FIC. ♦ Scholarships are not transferable to other students or Navitas member institutes in any circumstances. ♦ Navitas member institutions reserves the right not to award all or some of the scholarships in a given year. ♦ Scholarships cannot be backdated.
