We’re proud to be one of three universities in the world-class University of Illinois System.
Every year, approximately 4,000 students enroll here to earn a U of I degree - where classes aren’t too big or too small, and professors really know their students. We have over 50 years of empowering leaders and look forward to having you join us.
We are dedicated to fully engaging students in the process of active teaching and learning, and offer degree-granting programs in four colleges.

Opportunities
Accomodation
Housing Options:
Every year, more than 1,100 students choose from among four distinct living options - residence halls, townhouses, apartments, and family housing. Our facilities are modern and well maintained.
Living in the campus community can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your college life. The University of Illinois Springfield prides itself on many things. Perhaps most important is our developing sense of a UIS community that is growing on campus each and every day.
Residence Halls
The housing needs of freshmen and sophomore students are ideally met by the design of our two residence halls: Lincoln Residence Hall (LRH) and Founders Residence Hall (FRH).
The buildings are three stories high with five student housing wings. Students live in four person suites. A suite consists of two double rooms with a shared semi private bath. Each double room is provided with flexible furniture that can be configured with two beds, two desks, and two dressers. The furniture can be stacked as bunk beds or lofted beds above desks. Each student is provided with two duplex outlets and a data outlet.
Each wing is provided with a lounge, a free laundry facility, and is served by a Resident Assistant.
