Overview
Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology was established in 1967 and was named after the First Nations people who lived in the area. Algonquin was formed from the merger of the Eastern Ontario Institute of Technology, established 1957, and the Ontario Vocational Centre, established 1965. The College celebrates 51 years as a leader in post secondary education, and has undergone significant growth since its establishment and continues to grow today. All three Algonquin College Campuses have recently completed major expansion projects.
Algonquin College has partnered with CDI College, a private career college located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), to offer an innovative approach to post-secondary education in Canada for International students. Algonquin College programs will be delivered by CDI College at their campuses in the GTA, starting in Mississauga in Fall 2022. Students who complete an Algonquin College program of study through CDI College will graduate with an Algonquin College credential. This program delivery model provides the perfect opportunity to leverage Algonquin College’s reputable experiential and theoretical learning all while enjoying Canada’s largest metropolitan area.
