Overview

The University of Reading has been at the forefront of UK higher education for nearly a century. Over the decades we have become innovators and pioneers, pushing academic boundaries and leading social change. In 2016, we celebrated the 90th anniversary of the grant of our Royal Charter by King George V.

Whiteknights campus
Our main campus is set in 130 hectares of beautiful parkland, so you’ll find plenty of places to relax during the day. The site has received nine consecutive Green Flag awards, recognising it as one of Britain’s top green spaces.

The campus is a thriving community and features the Students' Union, Library, places to eat, and one the UK’s best student clubs. It also boasts two on-site museums, housing specialist collections relating to zoology (Cole Museum) and Greek archaeology (Ure Museum). You’ll have everything you need right on your doorstep.

Admission Requirements

The following requirements must be fulfilled to get admitted to the University of Reading

International students are considered on a case-by-case basis. There can be some additional requirements, depending on the program you are applying to.
Students are required to submit their original transcripts from their last attended academic institutions. If they are not in English, then submit the translated copies of the same along with the originals.
Applicants must be 18 years old at the time of the beginning of the course.
You need to submit your English language proficiency test scores if you are coming from a non-English speaking country.

Careers

The Careers team offers support to students in gaining skills and experience to help build their future careers. The team is made up of multiple areas:

Careers Consultancy – Our experienced Careers Consultants can help support students with their career planning and decision making. They advise student on how to gain experience, make successful choices, professional connections and how to achieve career goals.
Placements - Placement Coordinators provide support for all aspects of credit-bearing placements. They work with students and liaise with Placement Tutors and Placement Module Convenors to organise regular training sessions, advice drop-ins, appointments and placement clinics.
Careers Information & Events - The team organises free events throughout the year to help students grow their experience and gain new skills. These include events with top employers, workshops and careers fairs.
Employer Engagement - The team works closely with employers on a local, national and international level to provide students with networking and recruitment opportunities.
Careers advice: Our services are for all students, all disciplines and all years, including postgraduates and researchers. You can find the Careers on the first floor of the Carrington building and online.
Campus Jobs: Campus Jobs is a one-stop shop for all temporary work at the University, providing part-time opportunities that are safe and secure for our students. The service is a joint initiative between Careers and the HR department. Roles are available all over campus, in bars and cafés, administrative teams, academic departments, and in the library.
