Overview

A public university with campuses in High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Uxbridge, and Great Missenden is called Buckinghamshire New University (BNU). Since its founding as the School of Science and Art in 1891, the institution has gone by a number of names, including Wycombe Technical Institute, High Wycombe College of Technology and Art, and Buckinghamshire College of Higher Education. From 1999 until 2007, when its candidacy for university status was approved, it was a university college.
