Overview
At Humber, we offer a distinct third option between community colleges and universities—The Third Lane.
As Canada’s Polytechnic™, Humber has the competencies, breadth, and depth of talent and programs to shape a new lane for students, employers, and communities. It facilitates wealth creation and equal opportunity, thrives on innovation, and derives learning from failure.
Why Polytechnic?
Humber offers a polytechnic style of learning. What's a polytechnic?
Being a polytechnic means that our programs are career-focused and responsive to changes in competitive global job markets. Humber professors bring a wealth of relevant industry experience to the classroom. Class sizes are small, and simulation labs and work placements bridge the gap between classroom and industry. We put theory into practice from day one, which is important because work-integrated learning means you will have experience working in your industry before you graduate! When you leave Humber you will be a professional, poised and ready to make your mark.
Humber's Downtown Campus International Graduate School (IGS)
Humber’s Downtown Campus is uniquely integrated in Toronto’s core with proximity to the city’s business and technology hub. The campus features leading classroom technology that supports innovative teaching approaches and enriched learning. These tools encourage collaboration and creativity, and will prime you to be fluent in emerging technologies that are becoming the new business norm. Global classrooms mean immersive livestreamed sessions and videoconferencing that enable cross-border exchange with learners worldwide. Meeting rooms with smart technology and workstations with functional writable desks offer multiple ways to make ideas visible and workshop solutions.
