Master of Law in Human Rights Law

Program Overview

Law is crucial for promoting and protecting human rights at international, regional and domestic levels. This LLM will give you an advanced understanding of international human rights law and how it is implemented. Focus on areas that are at the forefront of human rights and utilise academic knowledge to contribute to its progressive development.

This LLM aims to give you the ability to deliver sound academic and practical knowledge and ability to provide clients with top-level counsel. You will be introduced to the institutions, standards and case law which structure human rights law. There is a focus on key issues of human rights, such as socio-economic rights; rights of women; international child rights and the crimes of the powerful. You'll also debate the uses of universality and cultural relativism in relation to human rights.

You will attend a range of activities including the evening and lunchtime guest lectures. You will also benefit from London being the home to a large number of major human rights organisations.
