Master of Science in Aerospace Structures and Materials

Program Overview

This new MSc programme is for students with an aerospace engineering or material science degree who want to specialise further in this innovative, fast growing sector. You can tailor your degree to build on your experience, choosing modules that reflect your interests and chosen specialism.

On this new MSc course, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation in aerospace structures and materials science. We’ll build on your existing expertise by giving you an in-depth understanding of engineering approaches to current aerospace problems. As well as specialist skills in computational modeling, aerospace structural analysis, material selection theory and implementation issues.

You’ll then specialise in one of several highly-sophisticated fields, such as:

  • Advanced numerical simulation of manufacturing in aerospace engineering
  • Stress analysis of structures
  • Aeroelasticity
  • Computational solid and fluid mechanics
  • Nanocomposites
  • And aerospace structures

You’ll gain the skills necessary to work in the aerospace engineering industry, whether as a researcher or as an engineer for a major aerospace company. You’ll also future-proof your career by collaborating with researchers working on alternative fuel sources.
