Managing exciting cultural initiatives takes more than just creativity and vision. This course will develop your leadership and organisational skills so that you can deliver projects that you're passionate about. We collaborate with Schools across Queen Mary so you can tailor the course to your interests, whether that's theatre, film, design or working with communities.
This Creative Industries and Arts Organisation MA will provide you with strategic research and ethical organising capacity for work in the creative industries. Building on a resilient and sustainability-oriented network of practitioners, creatives, organisers and strategic collaborators, this course offers a complex view of the often precarious forms of work and organisation that have emerged in the creative sectors, and the relation of these forms of creative work to social justice and economic and political equality of access for diverse Black, Asian, Indigenous, Latinx, queer, and working-class communities.
We draw from existing knowledge in the departments of Drama, Film, Law, English and Geography, and the School of Business and Management. As well as business modules, you can take four art-centred modules, such as French Film, Mental Health and Theatre, or Cultural Geography. This allows you to gain a full-spectrum understanding of the industry and to tailor your learning to suit your career trajectory.
