Program Overview
The Master of Arts in Teaching is a 42-credit, dual degree program consisting of 10 core courses and two student teaching courses, plus submission of the edTPA for Students with Disabilities (SWD), as required for New York State certification. Certified teachers need just 33 credits to graduate.
The College also provides the following non-credit bearing seminars and workshops required by New York State:
- Online seminar in Child Abuse Prevention and Identification
- Seminar in Violence Prevention and Intervention
- Seminar in Dignity for all Students (DASA)
- Workshop to prepare you for the New York State EASE Certification Exam
- Workshop to prepare you for the New York State CST Certification Exam (Early Childhood/Childhood General Education and Special Education)
