Master of Business Administration Concentration in International Business

Program Overview

Welcome to the Department of Management Programs at Florida Atlantic University. The academic areas that we serve are increasingly important in our society as organizations continue to expect more effective managers and management practices, and as both international business and entrepreneurship become vital components of the world economy. Students graduating with a degree in one of these areas will be prepared for a multitude of career opportunities. The mission of the Management Programs Department includes teaching, research and service. As one of the seven academic units in the College of Business we are the largest department in the College, serving over 1800 students. We house the third largest major in the University and offer a range of business programs to a diverse student body of traditional and non-traditional students. Our aim is to develop future leaders with the skills to successfully navigate the demands of business within a global marketplace. Areas of concentration at the undergraduate level include management, human resources, small business/entrepreneurship, and international business. At the graduate level we offer the Global Entrepreneurship track and the International Business track in the interdisciplinary MBA, and a doctoral programs in areas of faculty expertise. The program links to the below will lead you to more information on undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs.

The principal objective of the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) Program is to advance the quality of business management. The MBA program provides advanced management education in an environment that encourages students to extend their leadership capabilities. A Master of Business Administration degree enables students to gain broad managerial skills and to develop specialized expertise in a business discipline that best suits their career aspirations.

Students that pursue a MBA with a specialization in International Business will focus all program electives (12 credits) toward their area of concentration. Students will have the opportunity to select from graduate level courses in the Department of Management Programs to fulfill specialization requirements. Students must obtain a “B” grade or better in all elective courses to achieve International Business Specialization.

The Management Programs faculty is comprised of 26 faculty members, most with doctoral degrees and the remainder with graduate degrees in their area of specialty.

The specialization in International Business meets the needs of working professionals whose jobs have an international dimension and students who plan a career with international business content. The specialization is an ideal enhancement to any academic program.
