Major: Pharmaceutical Science
Pharmaceutical Science aims at developing new medicines for the treatment of disease. This major covers topics including the chemistry, biology and technology of medicines and is ideally suited for students who have a strong interest in chemistry, drug action and discovery. You will learn how the chemistry of life determines the biology of cells, tissues and organisms, and explore the drug discovery process from the identification of suitable drug targets to the use of chemistry to isolate, design and apply molecules in the treatment of disease. Pharmaceutical Science underlies the business of a multi-billion dollar industry, which provides a huge range of employment opportunities. Academic eligibility criteria
Deakin University offers a wide range of scholarships and bursaries to assist students from India in supporting their tuition fees for onshore studies in Australia.
These are based on academic merit as outlined in the table below and are offered on the total indicative tuition fee stated in the offer letter. The scholarships and bursaries are applicable for the entire duration of the course.

Students who complete the Deakin College Foundation program and enroll directly into a Deakin University degree will be eligible for the new Deakin College Foundation Pathway Scholarship.

| The bursary is open to all international students. The bursary can not be held in conjunction with any other Deakin scholarship. | |
Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
