Law enforcement. Probation and parole. Forensics. Corrections. Law. UToledo’s criminal justice majors in the College of Health and Human Services learn how society grapples with crime and punishment. The criminal justice bachelor’s degree program covers all aspects of criminal justice from criminal investigation to social justice. Undergraduates are well prepared for careers or further graduate study in sociology, criminology, social work, law enforcement, corrections, community service and related fields.

  • Accelerated police academy option. UToledo offers an accelerated program for junior and senior criminal justice majors. Successful students receive Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) certification as an Ohio police officer. This significantly improves the chances of being hired by an Ohio law enforcement agency.
  • Real-world skills and research. UToledo has one of the nation’s few criminal justice programs to combine theory, research and hands-on learning.
