The Master of Public Health Extension provides a comprehensive introduction to public health, connecting you with the big public health challenges of our time, and to the experts working to improve health and well-being and reduce inequalities. This extended program allows you to tailor your learning to your career aspirations by completing additional specialisations or elective subjects.
With a strong focus on Work Integrated Learning, industry connections, and practical placements (available through the Public Health Practice specialisation), you will put theory into practice and develop diverse skills and knowledge in public health. You will engage in innovative learning experiences that provide advanced work-ready skills and develop a keen analytical and social lens to address issues of global health significance.

The Master of Public Health Extension is a truly multi-disciplinary program, offering specialisations drawn from across UOW faculties and study areas. Problem-based learning, case studies, and a strong focus on skills development will ensure you enter the workforce with advanced public health skills and knowledge.

At UOW we offer a range of scholarships for students looking to undertake undergraduate or postgraduate study. We can also assist with information about scholarships offered by the Australian Government, as well as international organisations.
Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
