Study Deakin’s Bachelor of Environmental Science (Marine Biology) at our Warrnambool Campus and gain extensive hands-on experience exploring coastal ecosystems and marine environments in an area that has some of the richest biodiversity in Australia. Career Opportunities
As a marine scientist, you will gain skills across multi-disciplinary areas which allow for a diverse range of career opportunities in both research and applied fields in areas such as oceanography, marine biochemistry and biotechnology, fisheries, remote sensing, marine biology and ecology, microbiology and genomics, mathematics or economics. Further postgraduate studies including research training can lead to students becoming research scientists in a specific field of marine science.
Students who complete the Deakin College Foundation program and enrol directly into a Deakin University degree will be eligible for the new Deakin College Foundation Pathway Scholarship.

Deakin University offers a wide range of scholarships and bursaries to assist students from India to support their tuition fees for on-shore studies in Australia.
Deakin University offers a bursary of 20% and a scholarship of 25% based on academic merit as outlined in the table below. They are offered upon the total indicative tuition fee stated on your offer letter, available for the normal duration of the course.

The bursaries and scholarships are
Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
