• Our graduates can envisage career roles across the justice and social policy sector, as well as the public service. 
• The Bachelor of Legal and Justice Studies, when studied with the Conveyancing major, is a recognised educational qualification for a licensed conveyancer in NSW. 
• Students wanting to become lawyers may receive advanced standing for eligible units in the Bachelor of Laws, during or on completion of the Bachelor of Legal and Justice Studies, subject to approval by the Course Coordinator.  Students intending to apply for advanced standing into the Bachelor of Laws are advised to contact SCU Law Enquiry at their earliest convenience.   
• Alternatively, students can choose to graduate with the Associate Degree in Law (Paralegal Studies) after completing the required 16 units. 
• Other career outcomes include law-related work in legal firms, government policy making, corporate firms, government legal departments, law enforcement agencies, legal aid offices, court administration, public prosecutions, and in the corporate sector in banking, insurance and conveyancing.

We are excited to introduce the Gold Coast New Student Grants, designed to support international students commencing their studies in 2025. We are pleased to share the key details and campaign resources with you.

Key Details:

• 250 grants available for new international students
• $1,000 cash grant to assist with visa fees, accommodation, and living expenses
• Open to students commencing studies between 1 May–30 November 2025
• Students must enrol in an Experience Gold Coast member institution for at least 24 academic weeks
• Applications open 11 February – 30 June 2025 (or until all grants are allocated)

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a new student arriving from offshore with a valid Student Visa (subclass 500)
• Must enrol at an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution for at least 24 academic weeks (including packaged offers/multiple courses)
• Must have a course commencement date between 1 May–30 November 2025

Students who have completed their studies in Australia can apply for a Post Study Work Permit or a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) to continue working in Australia post the completion of their study programs. As an international student, one can apply for the visa but not later than six months after completing your course. But to be eligible, you must meet the Australian Study Requirements, which include a minimum of 16 months of stay in Australia and a completing 92 weeks of a course registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
