The Early Childhood Major is recognised by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority. Students wishing to seek teacher registration in another state should seek advice from that state's appropriate professional body.
You will be prepared for a career as a teacher in the independent, Catholic and state education systems in Queensland, as well as nationally and overseas. Your teaching career can also lead to senior positions such as a head of curriculum or positions with central school administration, such as a policy adviser, curriculum officer or principal.
Rather than teaching in schools, you could also choose to work in training settings in industry and government, outdoor education, adult literacy, libraries, educational research, education policy, or consultancy.
