A biochemistry degree from Brockport serves as a launching pad. Our graduates work healthcare, pharmaceuticals, research and development, and a variety of research careers. They go on to teach, or study at some of the most prestigious graduate schools in the country.
All accepted first year international applicants are guaranteed scholarships (Empire + Green).
Additionally, International students will be automatically considered for our Gold + Empire awards and/or recommendation to our Honors program. On campus residency is required. Scholarships are merit based and not applicable for athletes.
Freshman Scholarships - Our campus has recently announced that we are increasing our scholarships to freshmen applicants starting Fall 2022. As always, all admitted international freshmen are guaranteed a $4,000 scholarship! The new amounts are listed below:
Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):
