Program description:-

The discipline of physiology and pathophysiology encompasses the study of biological function and dysfunction at the molecular, cellular, systems and whole organism levels that affect our health but may also result in disease or disorder. At the University of Manitoba, the Department of Physiology & Pathophysiology continues to provide a natural training environment in multiple world-class research units across a number of research areas. 

The major research divisions and training programs of the Department are:

  • Cardiovascular Science and Disease
  • Endocrinology & Metabolic Disease
  • Neurosciences and Spinal Cord Injury
  • Respiratory Physiology and Disease

In addition to laboratory-based research training, the graduate program consists of basic courses in physiology, cell biology, molecular biology, and electronics for scientists, as well as numerous specialty courses designed to meet the needs of students in each of the major Divisions of the Department.
