Program Overview

This flexible course gives you the opportunity to psychology as your major discipline together with complementary topics from law. You’ll gain research-based insight into human behaviour and emotions and areas that impact our legal system, such as decision-making, child development, and mental health. With growing demand for graduates with knowledge of both subjects, you’ll be well placed for a career within legal psychology, policy making or criminal justice.

You’ll develop an understanding of the basic principles and methods of psychology as a scientific discipline. You’ll combine these with core modules from the University’s law school to gain an understanding of how these subjects interact in real-world contexts. For example, how do family law and the concept of attachment impact the role of caregiver in a child’s development?

This degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society, and you’ll be eligible for membership when you graduate. 

Our facilities will support you in every area of research. They include:

• a custom-fit mobile research vehicle for community research 
• eye movement recording facilities 
• an observation lab with audiovisual studio 
• a virtual reality (VR) laboratory 

As part of your degree you can:

• study abroad at one of our partner universities, including the University of Sydney, University of Hong Kong, and University of Western Ontario 
• spend your summer working on a project with researchers and psychologists in a real-world professional setting

• Indian Standard XII in English Language (CBSE and ISC Boards) 70% or above
• Higher Secondary Certificate/Standard 12, achieving at least 75% from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) and Metro State Boards (Delhi, Maharashtra, Chennai, Kolkata and Karnataka)
