Program Overview
This BSc will fuel your passion for maths and enable you to gain valuable industry experience. You’ll learn from dedicated mathematicians. Their research allows us to offer you a wide range of specialised modules across all the branches of the subject.
Our academics are working on problems that span medical, biotechnology and food security. We are conducting innovative research into stochastic epidemic modelling, thanks to experts with internationally recognised research excellence in statistics and probability. This means whichever area of maths you are interested in, you can develop your existing knowledge by studying advanced theories and techniques.
Placement year
The placement year enables you to take what you've learned and apply it to real projects in business. You will be supported by a placement tutor in securing a position and they will keep in touch during the year to see how you are getting on.
They will also help you in preparing a report about your experience on your return to Nottingham for your final year. The placement year can provide you with a source of income and can even lead to a job offer before you've graduated.
