A sizeable proportion of our Education graduates train as teachers by completing a one year Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), having a specialism will help differentiate you from other applicants. All students gaining an Honours degree are guaranteed an interview for a Hallam PGCE course subject to terms and conditions*.
*Candidates for PGCE courses will require GCSE grade C or Grade 4 in English Language and mathematics and science, or equivalent and usually a 2.2 degree or above. Candidates will also need to successfully complete the Professional Skills Tests in numeracy and literacy as designated by the DfE.
There are various options through which a student can get a post study work visa in the UK.
Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa for the graduates with a genuine and credible business idea.
Tier 2 (General) is the leading immigration visa to work in the UK.
Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Scheme is for students who have completed their Ph.D. and is valid for 12 months for them to work, look for work or set up a business.
