Program Overview

Carleton’s Infrastructure Protection and International Security program is the unique combination of resources of the Civil and Environmental Engineering and also the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs which provides a multidisciplinary program. The program is designed to introduce the important principles of the critical infrastructure engineering and multi hazard threat risk assessment. The research highlights in security risk management, blast resistant design of structures, national security policy, threats and vulnerability of critical infrastructures.   

The focus of the program is to provide students with skills and knowledge which they can contribute to the teams which is required to deliver robust, cost-effective and socially responsible solutions to ensure the national critical infrastructure systems. Students with the help of this program specialize in security, engineering and policy development.
