Master of Art in History

Program Overview

Carleton's MA program is one of a kind in Canada in its unmatched capacity to consolidate study hall work with on location preparing at national historical centers and related foundations. Our program centers on visual culture and basic approaches, including the investigation of workmanship's institutional settings and connecting with the dynamic idea of craftsmanship history at the turn of the 21st century.

The MA in Art History urges understudies to get to the abundance of social assets in the National Capital Region, including the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, and Library and Archives Canada. We utilize these foundations to show our understudies to connect basically with phenomenal works of non-Western and Western human advancements. Our practicum program places understudies nearby in pertinent organizations to set them up for future professions in Ottawa and somewhere else in the social division.

The majority of our employees are extraordinary researchers in their particular fields and are associated with a wide scope of major communitarian and individual research ventures, many including personnel from different colleges, offices, and projects, (for example, Communication Studies, English and Literary Studies, Histories of Science and Medicine, Religious Studies, Classics, History, and Women's Studies). These examination ventures enable us to offer applicable research preparing openings and assistantships to our alumni understudies.
