Program Overview
If English is not your first language, this subject-specific international foundation year will give you the necessary English language ability and expertise to study an undergraduate degree in business within UK higher education. Applicants requiring a Student Visa will not be eligible for this integrated course and instead should apply for the non-integrated International Foundation Year.
As part of your course, you’ll:
- Develop intercultural awareness and self-confidence
- Work on your communication, maths, research and study skills
- Increase skills in presentation, time management, problem-solving and planning
- Discover some of the fundamental principles of business and management
- Develop your knowledge of the role businesses play in the economy
- Familiarise yourself with business operations during classroom seminars
- Research existing organisations using a range of case studies
- Work individually and in groups to explore information and show analysis through presentations and reports
- Gain an understanding of British culture and universities, through a series of lectures and seminars
We’ll help you improve your study skills through projects, essays and practical exercises. You’ll be assessed by a mixture of coursework and classroom tests in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
