Program Overview

Golden Gate University’s Master of Business Administration program is designed to prepare the next generation of business leaders for today’s complex business environment. Led by instructors who are active professionals in some of the Bay Area’s largest and most successful organizations, we bring cutting-edge techniques into the classroom and equip you with in-demand skills that you can immediately apply in the real world.

At GGU, our well-rounded curriculum empowers MBA students to build a holistic management perspective as well as a comprehensive understanding of business. Throughout the program, you’ll learn to blend core business disciplines with vital soft skills like communication, presentations, and teamwork, applied through hands-on case studies that mirror real-world management scenarios.

Entrepreneurship Concentration

For ambition persons who want to start and grow their own business, and/or manage innovation within a larger enterprise.

This concentration offers the opportunity to learn how to design, finance, and manage a new venture. Real-world practical skills combined with the most current theory provides a solid foundation. All students in this program will construct a business plan for their venture, and will also have the flexibility to choose additional courses to support their particular interests.

International Dean’s Scholarship Criteria: Same as the President’s Scholarship – F-1 visa status and admission to a qualifying master’s program. Distributed over the full course duration. Not combinable with other GGU financial aid. International Welcome Grant Criteria: Must be enrolled full-time in the first term. Not renewable. Cannot be used alongside other GGU scholarships. Work Permit

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.

It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.

A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

Pre-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment provided to F-1 students before completion of their course of study.
Post-Completion OPT: This is temporary employment available to F-1 students after completing their course of study.
24 Month STEM Extension: Students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses can a 24-month extension after their initial Post-Completion OPT authorization.
