What Can You Do With A Marketing Degree?
Every organization — for-profit and nonprofit alike — cares about creating customer value. This is what marketing is all about, and it’s integral to almost every aspect of business. It’s also a field that offers reliable growth. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment of advertising, promotions and marketing managers will grow 6 percent over the next decade, faster than the average for all occupations.
Our marketing major prepares you to think strategically about the role of marketing across a wide variety of organizations, and create value for businesses large and small. When you graduate, you can look forward with confidence: 80% of UM’s College of Business graduates are employed in their field or accepted to graduate school.
Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):
