In these challenging times, sociology gives us a lens to look at the world around us, and far from us, to better understand and act to create paths to a more equitable and sustainable future. Sociology gives you the tools to examine human groupings and behavior from a scientific and humanistic standpoint. While everyone may have an opinion on social issues, NSU’s Bachelor of Science in Sociology will give you the research and data-driven expertise to enlighten the civic conversation.
At NSU, you’ll study everything from urban life and rural families to issues such as international health care inequities or the influence of technology. You’ll gain social perspectives on race and gender and follow the rise and fall of social movements, and how communities attempt to solve contemporary problems. The diversity of NSU and its surrounding communities enrich the opportunities and offer resources for the study of sociology. Upon completion of NSU’s B.S. in Sociology program, you’ll have the skills and knowledge necessary to present informed analyses at a professional level, and make a difference through scholarship, service and a rewarding career.
