The Psychology major prepares students for both entry-level jobs in the workforce and advanced professional education in psychology. The psychology major exposes students to each of the major domains of psychology and provides students with a solid base of knowledge in each of these domains. It encourages students to integrate and apply knowledge, and allows flexibility in course selection to help students meet their career goals. The major emphasizes scientific research and application to significant areas of human activities.
How does mindful meditation prevent stress from impacting your ability to concentrate? Can going for a walk improve your ability to learn? Your psychology degree from Nova Southeastern University gives you the chance to explore these questions and more by teaching you the valuable skills you need to get an edge in the career marketplace.
Beginning in your first semester, NSU’s B.S. in Psychology gives you opportunities to work collaboratively with professors to conduct research and present at local and national conferences. If you’re interested in pursuing a career in clinical psychology or counseling, you’ll have opportunities to complete practicums and internships (for credit), to gain work experience in clinical settings. Whether you choose to pursue a career as a behavioral science researcher, licensed psychologist or use the flexibility and skills earned with a psychology degree to work in the industry of your choice, NSU prepares you for the next step.
