Gain specialist skills to make your mark in the business world. The Bachelor of Applied Management degree is designed for those with a drive to succeed in business, with a practical focus and a flexible structure.
What you will learn
You will study eight compulsory modules in your first year, giving you a strong understanding of business management before you specialise in your second and third years. All students in their final year of study will complete Applied Work Integrated Learning (AWIL). This gives you an opportunity to be placed in industry, gain valuable work experience, and complete an agreed piece of research, increasing employment chances when they graduate.
In the second year, you will study three modules specific to your major and a further three, which could either contribute to a second major or be elective modules based on the areas of interest. You will also take the Applied Management and Research Methodology core modules.
Operation and Production Management
Get the skills to become an economic powerhouse. The broad scope of this major equips students with the skills to get the best results out of people and processes. The skills gained allow graduates to plan and implement production efficiencies that translate to what every business needs: a better bottom line.
In their first year, students will complete the eight core modules required for the applied management degree. These give students important broad skills they will need to excel in any area of business. Students will take three modules for the operation and production management major in the second year, choose three other modules that can be toward a second major, and two more core modules – Applied Management and Research Methodology. In their third year, students will study two more operation and production management modules and two other modules towards a second major. Students will also apply their skill on work placement with a local business.

With the coming of the new regulations, the New Zealand government has taken significant steps for international students. According to their pedagogy, students having completed Level 4 to 6 and non- degree level 7 qualifications with an additional year for Graduate Diploma Graduates of the qualifications get a one year work visa, the students having completed Level 4 to 6 and non- degree level 7 qualifications outside Auckland with an additional year for Graduate Diploma Graduates of the qualifications get a two year work visa the ones who have completed Level 7 or above get a three year work visa.
