Program Overview

Gain specialist skills to make your mark in the business world. The Bachelor of Applied Management degree is designed for those with a drive to succeed in business, with a practical focus and a flexible structure.

What you will learn
 

You will study eight compulsory modules in your first year, giving you a strong understanding of business management before you specialise in your second and third years. All students in their final year of study will complete Applied Work Integrated Learning (AWIL). This gives you an opportunity to be placed in industry, gain valuable work experience, and complete an agreed piece of research, increasing employment chances when they graduate. 

In the second year, you will study three modules specific to your major and a further three, which could either contribute to a second major or be elective modules based on the areas of interest. You will also take the Applied Management and Research Methodology core modules.



Human Resource Management


Make a career out of being a 'people person'. In this major, students will gain the essential skills needed to get the most from a team of workers. Students will learn about staff management, recruitment, team member performance, up-skilling and development, and resolving workplace conflict.

In their first year, students will complete the eight core modules required for the applied management degree. These modules will give students the important broad skills needed to excel in any area of business. For their second year, students will take three modules for the human resources management major, choose three other modules that can be toward a second major, and two more core modules – Applied Management and Research Methodology. In the third year, students will study two more human resources management modules and two other courses towards a second major. Students will also apply their skill on work placement with a local business.
