Bachelor of Arts students are prepared for a career in the chemical industry, graduate work in the chemical sciences, health sciences, medicine, business, marketing or law. The BA is also intended primarily for pre-professional students in the health sciences and related areas such as pharmacy, as well as prelaw students interested in patent law.

Outcomes and Career Outlook
Upon completion of the Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, graduates will be proficient in organic and physical chemistry. Graduates of the BS in Chemistry will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of at least four of the five foundational areas of chemistry (analytical, organic, inorganic, physical and biochemistry).
Freshmen should apply for FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid) by February 1st. It is preferable to file your FAFSA as early as possible for priority consideration for all scholarships and state grants.

In general International Students are not eligible for scholarships. There are a select few scholarships for which International Students may apply and they can do so by submitting the online scholarship application. Students should also contact the departments of their majors to learn about opportunities there.
Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
