Technology, analytics and globalization continue to define the changing course of economics.
Stevens' leadership in these areas gives you a head start in the real world, both on internships and on the job or in graduate school. You'll gain an extra edge at Stevens, where coursework is aligned to the rigorous guidelines set by the American Economic Association in logical problem solving, data analysis, and compelling speech and writing. Furthermore, you'll enjoy plenty of opportunities to travel abroad, to see firsthand how business practices in other countries impact economics, both at home and far away.
Students complete the Economics major prepared to leverage their understanding of the global economics picture and data analysis techniques to excel in economics, banking or finance.

Stevens awards several merit scholarships every year to our most outstanding students. You are automatically considered for Stevens merit scholarships when you are admitted; no additional application is needed.
Merit scholarships range between $5,000 and full tuition (scholarships may not exceed the cost of tuition). If you receive a Stevens merit scholarship, it may be renewed every year, for a total of eight full-time undergraduate semesters, as long as you meet all of the renewal requirements.
Global Scholarship
Stevens grants a limited number of Global Scholarships each year to international students for exceptional academic merit. International students who wish to be considered for institutional scholarship must submit the CSS PROFILE on the College Board website. We will notify you if you receive a Global Scholarship. This scholarship is renewable for eight full-time undergraduate semesters as long as you meet satisfactory academic progress.

OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):
