The Health and Wellness Option will prepare health professionals to seek employment in a variety of agencies such as local, state, national, international non-profit and corporate wellness programs.
The Health and Wellness Option is designed to address the seven areas of responsibilities for the health education profession as recommended by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC).

The health and wellness curriculum will prepare students to: develop a strong background in human behavior and behavior modification; effectively plan, implement, and evaluate health and wellness programs; increase leadership skills; and become familiar with the latest research and developments within the field.
Internship opportunities may be explored at local, regional, and national agencies/organizations that qualify students for employment in that field.
Health and wellness graduates will find employment opportunities as health educators, health and wellness coaches, and community or worksite health promotion coordinators.

International Undergraduate Merit-Based Scholarship: Must be an international student offered full admission (not conditional) to MSU as a freshman or transfer student. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5+ on a 4.0 scale. Renewal: Annually renewable with a minimum 3.0 GPA, full-time enrollment, and non-resident status MSU Presidential Scholarship: Open to first-year international students with full Fall admission (not conditional and not transfer). Based on academic excellence, leadership, and personal achievement. Application deadline is in early December; students are also considered for the Honors College with this application. Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):
