Program Overview

The Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education Primary/Junior Concurrent Education offers the students two degrees in the span of six years, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) along with an Honors BA in Child and Youth Studies. The degree offers the correct balance of practical and theoretical knowledge and focuses on children, childhood and youth. The graduates who complete the program are recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers for an Ontario Certificate of Qualification and Registration.

You’ll study for six years to complete an Honours BA in Child and Youth Studies and a Bachelor of Education (BEd) at the same time.
This concurrent degree integrates theoretical and practical knowledge, and includes a unique undergraduate program, which focuses on understanding children, childhood and youth. Opportunities for field experiences begin in second year, with a required service-learning placement, and continue throughout the program.
Successful graduates will be recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers for an Ontario Certificate of Qualification and Registration.

Our largest award is the Brock Scholars Award. This award is automatic and open to every incoming student from anywhere in the world. To qualify, you must be entering your first undergraduate program (no previous post-secondary experience).
