Program Overview
If you dream of starting your own business, teaching business in a University setting, or rising through the ranks of a successful corporation, then business is exactly the academic foundation you need. As a broad discipline, this degree will give you a firm foundation in economics, accounting, financial management, marketing, organizational leadership, ethics, and more. You’ll be prepared to pursue a career in the public, private, or governmental sectors, or continue on to a specialized field through further education.
Accounting Concentration
Accounting is known as the language of business—it is a channel for communicating and keeping track of financial information. Accountants rely on various mathematical formulas to relay information to management and outside constituencies, helping them maintain financial health and making sure they are complying with financial standards. As an accountant, you’ll become an expert in applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices and have a broad range of career paths in the public sector, private industry, or nonprofit world.
