The mission of the School of Nursing is to offer quality nursing education to undergraduate and graduate nursing students. This education prepares nurses with clinical decision-making skills based on evidence-based practice (EBP). Additionally, the School seeks to establish an academic foundation for Advanced Practice Nursing and Doctoral preparation. As life-long learners, graduates are prepared to deliver holistic health care to diverse populations across health care settings.
The scope of nursing practice is changing significantly. The professional nurse uses theory and research-based knowledge to provide direct and indirect care to individuals, families, groups, and communities.
In the role as designer, manager, and coordinator of care, nurses collaborate with patients and interdisciplinary care teams.

They are adapting new measures during this tough time and hence, some changes have been made. The University is willing to accept the Duolingo English test as the proof of English language proficiency. The minimum acceptance score will be 95.
The School of Nursing offers a program that leads to the Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN). The degree requires a minimum of 120 semester units, and the nursing curriculum sequence covers five semesters.
Upon completion of the program, students are eligible for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and the California Public Health Nurse Certificate. The program is accredited by the California Board of Registered Nursing and theCommission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
High school students preparing for a career in nursing should take biology, chemistry, and additional college preparatory courses required for CSU admission.
Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
