Speech-language pathologists assess, diagnose, treat and help prevent communication and swallowing problems in children and adults. Successful speech-language pathologists understand the scientific, social, and clinical aspects of communication and care for patients with disorders of articulation, language development, voice, swallowing, feeding and other issues.
