Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Kinesiology

Program Overview

Kinesiology students come from many different backgrounds but have a common interest in human structure, function, and performance.

Students who graduate form the kinesiology stream within the School of Human Kinetics have many professional opportunities, including membership in BCAK (British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists), certification as fitness leaders, personal trainers, performance coaches, and advancement into further studies in health, medicine, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, and more. Within the kinesiology stream, there is an opportunity for students to specialize in strength and conditioning. This specialization is recognized through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as an Approved Educational Program (one of only three in Canada). Throughout the Kinesiology program, students are also prepared to write NSCA certification exams for CSCS – Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and CPT – Certified Personal Trainer.
